How Do i change my headlight on my 2006 Pontiac grand prix?
i have a headlight out on my 2006 Pontiac grand prix and i cant figure out of to change it? i have spent hours trying to figure out the headlight and it hasn't come to me yet. I'm trying to install new bulbs but can't get the old bulb assemblies out. I've tried (seemingly) everything but can't get the room to work. lift on the release tab for the healight bulb socket, pull the plug away from the bulb.

How do I change the headlight on a 2003 Ford Ranger?I just did this job and it took 10 minutes. Need a small wrench or nutdriver to remove the plastic strip, and a flat blade screwdriver to lift the lock tab.Report Abuse

My headlight has been burnt out for quite some time and I just got pulled over and given a warning. I purchased the headlight, but have no idea how to put it in. I am looking for a website with step by step instructions, and possibly illistrations. I need to change it today, mostly because the same officer sits in the parking lot across from my job and he said he's seen me for a long time, and I don't want him to see me again tonight! It is a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. Thank you for any help that you can offer!!!Does anyone know where I can find step by step instructions to change the headlight on my 2002 Grand Prix?Here is the step by step instruction You need..Open your hood. look behind the light you're trying to change the bulb on. You will see the wires running to the light. there is a locking ring that holds the bulb on the light. Turn the locking ring counter clock wise.Depending on which light it is you may have to remove the battery to gain space to get your hand on the ring and the light socket. Once the ring is off the light socket with the bulb should be able to be pullet straight out. Then you'll just lift the little locking clip on the plug and pull the bulb and plug apart.. When you install the new bulb it is important that you don't touch the glass bulb. If you want to ensure a long bulb life you can take some rubbing alcohol and wipe the glass part of the bulb clean of anything that could be on it. Yes even a new bulb could use this little treatment to make the bulb life longer. Then install the bulb, the lock ring and then the plug. It is really way simpler than it sounds! Just make sure you remember which way the lock ring was facing when it came off. And you don't try to put it on backwards. Basically you have to find the back of the headlamp assembly and then turn the part where the wire goes in CCW a little bit and pull the bulb out.
Sometimes the whole lamp socket turns, sometimes it's a dollar, but essentially it's a bayonet mount like a camera lens.
Clean the new bulb with alcohol and do not touch it - the oil from your finger will contaminate the glass and cause premature failure.How to change my headlight bulb?VW are always fairly easy to do routine fixes on.
