you probably have to buy the complete light knowing the way the auto industry works now days, if the plastic lens comes out you probably just can't buy the lens new, you might have to go to the junkyard and then they probably won't sell just the lens to you, they want you to buy the complete light.I have a 2002 Ford Mustang.I want to change out the headlight plastic covers. how can I do that?The entire headlight assembly would need to be replaced and it simply unscrews.

I need to know how do you change the headlight on a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta. I either need detailed instructions or direct links dont tell me to go buy a manual or look on google please because I need to do this now.2000 Jetta Headlight?The drivers side is pretty tight, hope you have small hands. First there is a plastic cover that has to be removed. It's located directly above the headlight. It's attached by 2 phillips screws. Once the screws are removed pull the plastic piece straight up. Behind this cover, in between the battery and the headlight, you will see a black rectangular box being held by a pressure clip. Slide the metal clip to the opposite side of the box. Remove the cover. Unplug the wiring harness attached to the headlight bulb. Aroung the bulb is a plastic ring that acts like a nut. Turn this plastic nut until it loosens then slide over your headlight bulb. Once this ring is removed your headlight bulb should pull straight out. Insert the new bulb and put back toghether in reverse order. Don't forget to plug the wire harness back up.2000 Jetta Headlight?y dont u go to a workshop or vw dealer and ask whether they have old spares

Its a thing that sticks up that looks like its in a star pattern, and its on a yellow or white box looking thing. there is a piece of steal that goes through there, follow that back toward the car, and you should see a clamp. stick a screw driver in there, and pry it up. there are 2 of these clamps, but you really only need to pry up the one on the outside of the light. pop the light out, and then carefully turn the bulb holder out of the headlight. take your head light out, put the new one in, and put it back. then push your headlight in, put the clamp back down, and your done. take your time at this.

Go to your local NAPA auto parts, purchase the book, and you're on your way. Haynes is the BEST, hands down because unlike Chilton's, they don't' try to cram generic information on 4 or 5 vehicles in one book. Sorry to all the guys in the audience; some of the best mechanics I know are females. They have to study %26quot;harder%26quot; to prove themselves in a typically male dominated career field. That being said, asker, don't give up on yourself so soon, I have large hands, and I can't get in to replace some of them. Depending on which bulb it is, it can be a real %26quot;treat%26quot; to change. There is a lock ring that holds the bulb in place. You have to remove this first. Who cares about the old bulb? The important thing is NOT TO TOUCH THE GLASS OF THE NEW BULB. They are a halogen capsule. They heat up very quickly, and if there are any oils from your skin on the glass, they can burst. Wear rubber gloves, or use a paper towel. Good luck!

Would it be worth changing out the Headlamp bulbs on my-?
I have a 06 Chevy Silverado and was woundering if I should change the headlight bulbs to those new white lights that they sell. I am not sure how much better these work than just the normal bulbs? What brand would you reccomend, I have heard of those silver star bulbs before but don't want to replace origional bulbs unless it would be worth it?Would it be worth changing out the Headlamp bulbs on my-?Consumer reports did a test on the mercury vapor bulb compared to the original equipment bulbs and found no difference in site distance or quality of light. I haven't been able to find much info online, and there is no way I'm paying the dealership to do this. How to change the driver side headlight in a 2000 Honda Civic?
I know this question has been asked and I get the actual procedure of it but its doing it that is the problem. I can get to the passenger side head light easy, the problem is that I have a power steering and wind shield wiper containers right next to the head light on the driver side. Is it safe to move these out of the way or is there any way to get to the light. Another person told me the best way is to remove the whole head light to get to the bulb. which involves removing the bumper. Honda isn't that stupid to make you take a bumper off to change a light bulb.

Swap with someone. Although I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about, I assume you mean the European style housing. Although wouldn't UK and European housings be the same? A lot of people in the states swap out for JDM style housings which have a black housing. Or you can also take them apart and paint them. Look on ScoobyMods or Nasioc for instructions. Open your hood and look down the back of the headlight assembly. You should see a plug with 3 wires attached to the back side. Remove the plug and peel the rubber cap off. Under the rubber cap is a wire retainer, Push down on the end and it will swing open. Remove the old bulb taking note of how the three terminals are positioned and take the new one out of its packaging. Be sure to never touch the glass part of the new bulb, or else it will burn out inside a week. Carefully insert the the new bulb so the terminals are in the same position as the old and swing the wire retainer back into its slot. Put on the rubber cap and plug it in. There are couple things you can do to prevent this. One is to handle things very carefully with you bare hands and never touch the glass. Or you can wear a pair of disposable vinly gloves and change the bulb. I do the latter when it is in a difficult position to remove. and slide the ring off the plastic
base. Keep the ring to retain the
new bulb.
4. Remove the old bulb from the lamp assembly by gently pulling it
straight back out of the lamp assembly.

To install the new bulb:
1. With the flat side of the new
bulb’s plastic base facing upward,
insert the glass end of the bulb into
the lamp assembly. You may need to
turn the bulb left or right to align
the grooves in the plastic base with
the tabs in the lamp assembly. When
the grooves are aligned, push the bulb into the lamp assembly until the
plastic base contacts the rear of the lamp assembly.
2. Install the bulb retaining ring over the plastic base until it contacts the
rear of the socket by rotating clockwise until you feel a “stop.”
3. Install the electrical connector into the rear of the plastic base until it
snaps, locking it into position.
4. Turn the headlamps on and make sure they work properly. If the
headlamp was correctly aligned before you changed the bulb, you should
not need to align it again.

4. Remove the old bulb from the lamp assembly by gently pulling it
straight back out of the lamp assembly.

To install the new bulb:
1. With the flat side of the new
bulb’s plastic base facing upward,
insert the glass end of the bulb into
the lamp assembly. You may need to
turn the bulb left or right to align
the grooves in the plastic base with
the tabs in the lamp assembly. When
the grooves are aligned, push the bulb into the lamp assembly until the
plastic base contacts the rear of the lamp assembly.
2. Install the bulb retaining ring over the plastic base until it contacts the
rear of the socket by rotating clockwise until you feel a “stop.”
3. Install the electrical connector into the rear of the plastic base until it
snaps, locking it into position.
4. Turn the headlamps on and make sure they work properly. If the
headlamp was correctly aligned before you changed the bulb, you should
not need to align it again.

Thanks!After i changed the headlight in my 1996 toyota corolla tonight and reconnected the battery the alarm wont?do this in this order.. disconnect the battery, put the key in the ignition and turn it to run position (setting right before start). now reconnect the battery terminal. it should just beep once slightly on maybe not at all. Most systems are built to see that if someone has the key and can turn the ignition, it doesnt need the alarm to go off (ie; you are an owner). When the battery is disconnected the alarm activates because often times that is how thieves try to shut off the alarm. If you did not get the remote when you bought the car to shut the alarm off, you should consider having it removed to prevent further problems, or replace it with one that has the remotes. Most car stereo places can do this for you. I've been told the only way to get to the headlights is to first remove the front bumper. Any ideas on how to do this?
I've removed the mushroom clips etc. and the nuts under the wheel arch but it looks like you have to remove the plastic engine bay cover under the car to get to the bumpers clips - is there an easy way to do this?

Quick Headlight changing question for 01 Sunfire?
I just changed my headlight for my 01 Sunfire GT. I'm just curious as to how secure the fixture sits in the headlight assembly. It seemed to easy to put in (it didn't snap back in, just put it in and turn it 1/8th of a turn, the actual light is snapped to the wires).
